I'm in the process of uploading and completing the FIMK 0.4.1 server package.
This is the version that you would normally install on your server.

We have fixed the problem where you could not just drop the folder on your server and have it work like before we removed the default NXT client.
Now that is the case, it [the bundled mofowallet] will also work on any custom domain (not just localhost) and will work when run on HTTPS as well as HTTP.

I've written a blog post about the release only realizing it's both about the server as its about the client.

Highlights from the blog post:

1. Many bugs fixed
2. Free text (instant) blockchain search (google would probably be jealous)
3. Translated in 64 languages
4. Built into the client crowd-translator tool
5. New Payments module that allows for sending many payments at once (basic income, dividends etc..)

Download link for FIMK server 0.4.1 will follow shortly.

Thats nice to hear.

A lot more is coming which will be a lot better than what we have shown this far.
But as with everything which is being built from the ground up, you have to lay the (sometimes boring) foundations first.

I have a question related to FIM server version 0.4.1 memory usage.. Now that I restarted the server, the java process memory usage is down to 135MB but it keeps growing fairly rapidly. In a day or so it will be around 1GB and I guess it would keep growing without restart. Is it meant to be like this?

Memory usage does not have to be an issue when it comes to your system performance.

The java garbage collector and the H2 database memory cache are smart in a way when it comes to balancing the amount of memory used the amount freed and your system performance.

When you have a 8GB RAM for instance it's not at all logical to prefer software to use only a tiny amount of that. Since RAM is solid state storage it does not use any power so why not make use of the most of it. Anything that is in RAM (as opposed to being on your HD) can be accessed immediately without any need for costly and slow disk reads.

So I dont know (exactly) what causes your memory usage to grow but I do know it's an expected behavior since at least the java GC is active and the database reads are actively cached.
