The distribution has definitely gone belly up lately.

Talk about a new opportunity, with decent risk-reward ratio  ;)

Association hasn't been forging right now AFAIK, gotta change that probably soon if the situation remains as now.

What do you think of the current forging distribution?:
https://lompsa.com/#/activity/fim/forgers/latest
Something that frightens me, is that I have only a couple of millions, and currently forging like hell... Then there is this single huge forger, which outruns even the largest pools in total forging power. Is it the association? (I don't have the means to check this kind of details)

I'm guess it is the HEAT ICO that shook things up.  Prior to it, I was forging 3-5% of the last 1440 blocks.  I'm not at 12%.

A ton of FIM went to the ICO.  What is being done with those?  Are they going to be forged at some point?  If not, then it would seem that the FIM available to forge has dropped dramatically.

What is the plan for those FIM used to buy HEAT?

I Have heard most probably use for fimks used to buy heat is to burn them for boost exchange rate, but I dont agree fully. Maybe better would be to use them for national income and bountys.

There's no actual plan for those yet.

We have a few options that will be considered later.

burn them for boost exchange rate
I don't think we've mentioned boosting exchange rate as a reason for possible burning. It wouldn't affect that much immediately. Burning would serve other purposes (getting rid of FIMK that could pose a problem later on or during adoption).

national income and bountys.
Bountys don't work very well from my experience, not even with relatively well known cryptocurrencies

That fact, should it come into effect, doesn't have technical significance from what I know.

Yes, you need to run a local client to forge. You can also lease your balance to a pool and have them do the forging for you.

Ok. I have misunderstood at some point. I have remembrance that you said to burn to increase value of remaining fimks, but maybe I remember wrong and that can mean also other things than exchange rate as priority, some "security reasons" etc like you said.

About security: I'm wondering (just theoretically, I have no intention personally ;-), if it's possible to securely burn/wipe/nullify/destroy any unit of FIMK or other cryptocurrency. I mean, because there's always a key in existence, there's also (at least theoretically) a way for somebody to recover it. Somebody, could (quite unexpectedly) remember the mnemonic all of a sudden, find a piece of paper or a file/e-mail (that was supposed to be destroyed). Or is there a way to prove that somebody has thrown away money? Or are you talking about a hard fork?

You can send stuff to genesis address to burn them. Address can be found by search as I have asked it before. Even if someone has key for it, he cant do anything with it, because it has negative balance. It is first address from where fimks are distributed.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with forging. The pool seems to wander off after a couple of hours... :(

My only problem is, that IMHO I'm forging far "too much", considering how small a player I am.

Forks can always happen. But those resolve normally after some time.

Yeah, but something still seems wrong.  According to my software, I'm forging about 4 - 6 %, around 60 blocks, of the last 1440 blocks.  This is what I have always experienced.

According to Lompsa, I'm forging 513  https://www.mofowallet.com/launch.html#/activity/fim/forgers/latest

I'd love to be forging that amount but my 4 million leased FIM is still smaller that FIMKERs at 12 million

Is Lompsa wrong, or my summary data?

I see that my problem is that there is a gap in the blocks for my pool.  My guess is the pool server was on a fork.  Once the fork resolved, it missed the blocks that were forged by it (by other FIM servers) while it was on a fork.  I need to rescan the block chain for blocks that were not included in pool rewards yet.

I will need to redo the code to check every so often for forks and rescan...
