Certainly. One thing worth mentioning is that a backup of the account (keys) is essential. Maybe somebody else can elaborate, but they are stored in cookies or somehow in the browser anyway, so OpenLedger "staff" or anybody else than the owner can't restore them in case of crash or cleanup. Right?

Yes, the account keys need backed up for sure.  The browser remembers what accounts you own, but not the keys.  When you attempt a transaction, it will ask for the keys before it transmits it.

There is also a stand alone client that mirrors the browser experience.  You can use this if you feel uncomfortable with the whole cookie situation.

OpenLedger already has a pretty large volume of use which would open up people to FIMK itself.
Right that's valid reasoning.

Should you drift deeper into market making, you're in excellent position to pick the best of both worlds :)

Not really, I actually like the browser version. I just wanted to remind about the importance of backups and make sure if I understood it correctly.

Probably so, if not for immediate use then for future reference. Multiple markets give opportunities for arbitrage profits and should in theory increase trading interest.

I created a quick and dirty tutorial with some screen shots.  I feel like the software is pretty simple if you've ever used another exchange before.  http://fim.warmach.info/trading.html

That looks nice and easy! However, I would like to see something about the importance of backups, and what is stored and where. If I understood correctly, without bts_default.bin or similar file stored in a safe place, everything might be lost "in case of fire".

I updated the OP...

The only change was that I changed ownership of the FIMKRYPTO asset from "warmach20" to "warmach"  When withdrawing FIM from the exchange, please transfer the amount you want to withdraw to "warmach"

I am just trying to make it easier and less confusing.

Finally able to gt into my account. I appreciate your efforts in bringing FIMK to use on OpenLedger. I hope it will not be considered negatively that I have created the FIMK token as an asset on OpenLedger as well, and it will be the official token from OpenLedger when offering in and out options in connection with coming exciting news from here.

I will post the news in other thread, I just wanted to say hello, and hope you do not consider it negative I add some extra support for Fimkrypto now when CCEDK is closing its exchange part.

Anyone who has not yet made their withdrawals on CCEDK please do so asap, an if you have an account on OpenLedger, just send me an e-mail to ronny@ccedk.com with account number, e-mail adress connected to account and what amounts you wish to have transferred, and I will afterwards have your account locked and process the funds.

All the best

No problem!  I had anticipated CCEDK moving into this area.  I was merely providing a trading option while the CCEDK trading engine was offline.

Trying out OpenLedger... Can't even deposit BTC there because it won't let me generate any deposit address... Anyone with similar problems?

It may be the gateway you are using is down.  The Bitshares program (which is behind the scenes technology) does a remote server call to the gateway asking for a BTC deposit address.  So if the gateway doesn't respond, then it can't give you an address.  I would try again later.

If you are using the OpenLedger gateway, that might happen.  OpenLedger's systems are part of the default setting on the Bitshares UI programs.  This means that there are times where their servers get overloaded.

To help mitigate this, you can always point your UI client, assuming you are using the desktop client, to a different peer.  If you are using the browser version, then not much you can do except wait and try again.
